Entry into the grade
of "Teacher" in Scale 9 (Euros 15083) with yearly
increments of Euros 448/ Euros 17769 shall be through a call
for applications open to holders of a Teacher's Warrant or
to persons who qualify for one in accordance with the Education
Act.
A Teacher will proceed to Scale
8 (Euros 18009) with yearly increments of Euros 487/Euros
18983 after 8 years in the grade of Teacher in State or Church
Schools and will further proceed to Scale 7 (Euros 19247 with
yearly increments of Euros 532/Euros 20310) after a further
8 years service in both cases subject to satisfactory performance.
Entry into the Grade of Learning
Support Assistant (LSA) shall be either through a public call
for applications open to persons in possession of a certificate
in education for Learning Support Assistants, or a comparable
qualification, issued by the Education Authorities or by an
institution of higher education duly recognized by the Education
Authorities, or through a public call for applications open
to persons in possession of a Diploma in Facilitating Inclusive
education, or a comparable qualification, issued by an institution
of higher education duly recognized by the Education Authorities.
An LSA with a Diploma will enter
at Scale 12 (Euros 12575) with yearly increments of 354 Euros
and will progress to Salary Scale 10 eventually reaching a
maximum salary of Euros 16643. Learning Support Assistants
LSA I with a Certificate in Education will enter on Scale
15 (Euros 10494) They will then proceed to Scale 14 on completion
of 5 years service in the Grade and will then proceed to Scale
13 on completion of a further 5 years service in the Grade.
Learning Support Assistants (Presently those in substantive
post as Facilitators on the basis of the Faculty of Education
Certificate) enter into Scale 13 (Euros 11822) They will then
proceed to Scale 12 on completion of 5 years service in the
Grade and will then proceed to Scale 11 on completion of a
further 5 years service in the Grade. The maximum salary in
Scale 11 is Euros 15617.
Entry into the Grade of Kindergarten
Assistants in Salary Scale 15 (Euros 10494 x 299 - Euros 12284)
shall be through a public call for applications open to persons
who have successfully completed a certificate course for KGA's
recognized by the Education Authorities They will then progress
to Salary Scale 14 on completion of 5 years service in the
grade and will further proceed to Salary Scale 13 on completion
of a further 5 years service in Scale 14. The maximum salary
in Scale 13 is Euros 13836. KGA's already in post who wish
to upgrade their professional development to the level of
the required Diploma would be expected to do so by availing
themselves of courses organized by a recognized institution
of higher education. KGA's who satisfy these requirements
will proceed to Scale 12 and will further proceed to Scale
10 on completion of 5 years service in the grade.
